Paying your rent and other charges
You can continue to pay your rent and any other charges in the same way with Red Kite as you did with Wycombe District Council. Your rent and other charges are due in advance on the first Monday of every two week rent period. If you have an agreement with us you can pay weekly or monthly if you prefer.
How much do you need to pay?
Rent increase - from 2nd April 2012, your rent will change. Read more about it here.
How to pay your rent
You can pay your rent in a number of ways:
Standing order - if you had a standing order with Wycombe District Council, the money will have been automatically transferred to Red Kite. If you would like to set up a new standing order, please contact your neighbourhood officer.
Direct Debit - you can now pay your rent by direct debit. This is a much easier way to pay as you won’t need to worry about changing the amount. This is all done automatically and you are covered by the direct debit guarantee.
Online - you can pay online through Allpay. Please have your Red Kite payment card and credit or debit card details to hand.
AllPay Card - if you still have a green AllPay Card, please contact us to make sure that you have a new one issued.
Telephone - you can make payments directly to AllPay on an automated telephone line. Please call 0844 5578321 and have your AllPay card, rent reference number and credit or debit card details to hand.
Post - you can send us a cheque (not cash). Please make your cheques payable to Red Kite Community Housing Ltd and send them to Red Kite Community Housing, Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe, Bucks. HP11 1BB. Please remember to write your rent account number, name and address on the back of the cheque.
Tourist Information Centre's - Please note that if you previously paid your rent at the Tourist Information Centres in Princes Risborough or Marlow you can no longer do this. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause any of our tenants. If you have any queries please contact us and we will help you find another way which is convenient for you to make payments.
Rent statements
You will be sent a rent statement four times a year. We are currently working to ensure that you will also be able to see your rent statements online and hope to be able to launch this soon. We wll keep you advised about the progress of this.
Help with your rent
If you are already claiming housing benefit and your circumstances haven’t changed, you don’t need to do anything. Payments will be made directly to Red Kite on your behalf (unless you have already advised us differently).
If you are finding it difficult to pay your rent and think you may qualify for Housing Benefit you can contact the Housing Benefit team on 01494 421325 for more information.
Please remember that you are responsible for your Housing Benefit claim. You must complete and return the forms on time or you may not qualify for any Housing Benefit.
Red Kite’s rent arrears policy
Any rent arrears that you had with Wycombe District Council will have been transferred to Red Kite with you. You will need to keep to any agreement that you had to pay off these arrears.
If you are having problems paying your rent
If you fall behind with your rent it is important that you contact your neighbourhood officer as soon as possible. It is much better to ask for help straight away so we can sort things out before they get too serious.
Your neighbourhood officer will help make sure that you have got all of the benefits that you are entitled to. You can make an arrangement with them to pay off any arrears each week. So long as you keep to the agreement then we won’t take any further action against you.
We will offer you all the help and support that we can – the last thing that we want is for you to lose your home. If however you don’t try to sort things out with us or keep to any agreement you have made with us we will take legal action against you and you may lose you home.
